Fellow Pathologist,

The Washington State Society of Pathologists Board of Directors thanks you for your membership and respectfully asks that you renew your membership for 2021. The WSSP continues to provide new educational opportunities and advocacy for our members and the broader community.

WSSP is committed to providing resources for our members as we navigate the SARSCoV2 pandemic. We have hosted four informative “Hot Topics” question and answer sessions in 2020.  These sessions probe topics of critical importance to the pathology and broader health care community and will continue to be available to everyone, regardless of WSSP membership status, free of charge.  We will provide recordings of the most recent Q&A lunchtime session below and of past 2020 sessions in the EVENTS portion of the website.

Please also join us for our next Challenging Case Conference which will be held on November 6,2020 and offer 3 category 1 and SAM credits for attendees. Register today!

In the 2020 Washington State legislative session, WSSP focused on addressing policy regarding benefit managers. Working with the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA), WSSP addressed policy around benefit managers, who dictate or limit health care provider decisions regarding the use of medical services (e.g. preauthorization and medical necessity). WSSP will also continue to monitor the rules making and implementation process for the Balance Billing Law (HB 1065) and the business and occupation (B&O) tax increase on health care, both which go into effect in 2020.

Your continued participation in the Washington State Society of Pathologists is essential.
